Areas of Concern

  • Lip size and lip lines - the mainstay of treatment is with dermal fillers like collagen and hyaluranon. Botulinum toxin can also play a part to soften lip lines and prolong dermal filler, and Fraxel laser may be appropriate for vertical lines.
  • Frown Lines – lines between the eyebrows are caused by the action of muscles just above the eyebrows. These are best treated by Botox, which relaxes the muscles, but sometimes they require dermal fillers like collagen or hyaluranon, as well, to smooth the lines.
  • Smile lines - these lines are often the result of loss of volume from fat loss and are best treated by "volumising" with dermal fillers.
  • Crows Feet – these are the smile lines on the outside of the eyes which form furrows when you smile. These are best treated by the muscle relaxant Botox which smooths the muscle that causes them. Sometimes we add collagen or hyaluranon for fine lines that remain after Botox. These lines sometimes extend under the lower eyelid and these areas can be improved as well in most people.
  • Lip Lines (vertical lines above and below the lips) are treated by collagen and hyaluranon dermal fillers for immediate effect. Botox is also a useful adjunct, gradually improving the lines and prolonging the life of the dermal filler.
  • Brow Lines – these are the horizontal lines on the forehead caused by raising the eyebrows. They can become quite furrowed and are best treated by a muscle relaxant (Botox) with or without a dermal filler.
  • Chemical brow lift – creating an arched or flared eyebrow is a new technique achieved with specific placement of Botox. This technique has become very fashionable in the USA.
  • Nasolabial Folds – from nose to corners of mouth. These deeper folds can be softened with dermal fillers like Restylane.
  • Marionette Lines (oral comissures) – from corners of mouth to chin. These lines often cause a sad look and can be improved with hyaluranon dermal fillers like Restylane.
  • Bunny Lines – scrunch lines on the nose are treated with Botox.
  • Mental Crease – furrow above the chin can be treated with Botox into the muscle or filled with dermal fillers.
  • Facial Scars - can be lifted with dermal fillers.
  • Acne Scars - can be softened with dermal fillers or the excellent Fraxel laser resurfacing.
  • Skin texture - can be improved with an intense customised skin care regime with a high concentration of active ingredients like Vitamin A and C. Microdermabrasion, ELOS Aurora, ELOS Polaris and the Fraxel laser can also be used for texture improvement.
  • Sagging skin or deep wrinkles- are treated well with Fraxel laser and Elos Polaris, often combined with hyaluranon fillers to volumize and Botox to relax and soften. Deeper wrinkles generally need a combined approach for the best result. Sometimes surgery is more appropriate and your Palm Clinic doctor can refer you to a reliable specialist surgeon.
