Acne Scarring

Acne scarring is a very common problem on the face and back. 

The scars often cause depressions in the skin of the face particularly over the cheeks. The good news is that there is now an excellent treatment for acne scarring called Fraxel Dual.  Fraxel Dual is a fractional resurfacing laser and it produces genuine permanent improvement in acne scars. All skin types can be treated including Asian and Maori or Pacific Island patients.

For severe depressions caused by acne scars dermal fillers can be used to elevate the scar.  Occasionally the scars are tethered by fibrous strands and these can be incised to lift the acne scar.
