Elos Aurora

Aurora Fotofacial and Permanent Hair Reduction with ELOS technology.

Aurora is new technology which advances IPL technology which has been used for Fotofacials for at least 10 years. The advance is the combination of IPL with bipolar radiofrequency called electro-optical synergy or ELOS.

This unique combination of technologies creates greater improvement in the traditional treatment of broken veins, pigment and collagen stimulation. At Palm Clinic we have several years experience of IPL technology with full strength medical IPL systems. Aurora has additional benefits for many patients but we will decide at the initial communication which technology will best suit you or whether a combination of technologies would work more efficiently.

Elos Aurora

The IPL arm of Aurora targets melanin and oxyhaemoglobin to produce the effect of improving pigment and broken capillaries in the face, neck and hands. This is augmented by the bipolar radiofrequency arm of Aurora which targets the deeper dermis to further stimulate collagen and assist with the treatment of rosacea and pigment change.

Elos Aurora

Aurora is also a significant advance for permanent hair reduction. Because the bipolar radiofrequency is not reliant on melanin for treating hair, Aurora has been demonstrated to reduce grey and blond hair by up to 40% with 12 treatments. This is the first system to show significant improvement in these light colour types and also works well for dark hair. At Palm Clinic we have three laser systems for permanent hair reduction – Coolglide (1064nm NDYAg laser), IPL and Aurora. We are therefore able to treat all skin types and all hair colours.

Elos Aurora

At Palm Clinic we have Aurora combined with Polaris in a unique system called Galaxy. The Polaris head of the Galaxy is able to induce significant skin tightening and wrinkle reduction. Combined with Aurora the treatment is called the Fotolift and is the best system for non ablative skin rejuvenation giving similar results to laser resurfacing without the downtime or side effects. The Fotolift causes some redness and minor swelling for 24- 48 hours and the skin remains intact.

Elos Aurora Hair Removal

Safe hair reduction is now a reality.

The number of necessary treatments depends on hair color and skin type, and the part of the face or body to be treated. Usually, four to six treatments are required for substantial hair reduction. Lighter hair will require a higher number of treatments.

Vortex Heating

Vortex Heating targets and damages the hair follicle. The Vortex is created when the RF current — the destructive energy — encircles and heats the hair follicle damaging the follicle itself not just the hair shaft.

Safety.

Elos requires lower overall energy levels for superior results and maximum safety. Most people experience no side effects at all other than short-term local reddening of the surrounding skin. Treatments require no patient downtime.

Elos Aurora FAQ's

How does Elos work? - elos (electro-optical synergy) uses a unique combination of radio frequency and light to isolate the treatment area and leave the surrounding skin free from potentially harmful side effects. Using gentle pulses of two targeted energies means better results with lower overall energy output — assuring the highest level of safety and comfort. Other systems using only one energy source can’t compare.

What does Elos feel like? - Treatment with elos produces a slight tingling feeling, and on the most sensitive areas of the skin, patients may only feel a quick, light pinch. Side effects are very rare, and elos technology assures a higher comfort level than other laser technology.

Is this a no-downtime procedure? - Absolutely. Elos procedures require no sedation. The average procedure takes less than 30 minutes to perform. Any redness on the face can be covered with makeup immediately. Following your procedure, you can return to work or your daily schedule with no problem.
