Female Thighs Liposuction

The thighs are one of the most common areas treated in women.

This is for at least two reasons. Firstly, bulky thighs are often hereditary, and can increase dramatically in size at puberty.

Also, after pregnancy, there is often an excessive accumulation of fat in the thigh area. Liposculpture to the thighs is very rewarding. Vast improvements in shape are possible.

Hips and outer thighs before and after liposuction

Combined liposuction treatment of the outer thighs and hips
Commonly the lower half of the body is a larger size than the top half and clothes fit poorly. Many women have a 'body in 2 halves' as you can see with the woman below who had a size 8 top and size 12 bottom excluding her from buying clothes off the rack.  In the after photo liposuction has narrowed the lower half of her body so that she was able to buy clothes off the rack.

They are quite slender and happy with their appearance from the waist up, but the areas from the hips down are another story. Here its as though the thighs belong to another person. They are heavy and they bulge. With liposculpture it is possible to bring these two halves of the body back into proportion. Some women find that the inner thighs rub together and the skin of the inner thighs is irritated. Liposculpture can eliminate this problem, or at least make it much better.

It is a mistake to think that a large amount of fat must be removed to change shape. Some women may only need a relatively small amount taken away to vastly improve their shape.

Great volume reductions are also possible and can completely change the look of the areas from the hips to the thighs.

Outer thighs "Saddle bags" in women are accumulations of fat over the outer thigh. Removing them gets rid of the bulge which you see from looking directly in front or behind. Even though little work is often done to the buttock itself, the buttock crease appears to have been drawn outwards giving a more natural appearance. The change in appearance is often dramatic.

Thigh liposuction before and after photos

In the following before and after photos the whole of the upper thigh is very heavy in appearance, partly due to heavy musculature but also to significant deposits of fat.  Here I have performed almost circumferential liposuction to the front of the thigh, outer thighs and inner thighs.  Although the legs remain bulky due to the musculature there has been a pleasing reduction to the volume of the upper thigh and a much bigger gap between the inner thighs making the wearing of jeans and other clothes much easier.

The following photos show what can be achieved by combining liposuction to the hips and outer thighs.

Removal of the "saddle bags" or outer thighs can make a huge difference to body shape.  As can be seen in the following before and afters of liposuction to the outer thighs, by removing the excess fat in this area the whole body looks thinner and more elongated.  Fitting jeans becomes much easier and a more youthful appearance is attained.

In the before and after photos below the front of the thighs have been treated with liposuction.  In the before photo the front of the thighs project well forward and in the after photo the front of the thighs are reduced producing a leaner looking leg.

Inner thighs can cause a huge problem with chafing and can even affect the way some people walk.  Below, the before and afters of liposuction to the inner thighs from groin to knee show there is now a gap between the legs allowing much more freedom with walking.  A little has also been taken off the outer thighs as well.

In the before and after photos below liposuction has been performed to the buttocks and outer thighs and hips to dramaticaly reshape the lower half of the body.

Common questions about thigh liposuction.

Who is a candidiate for thigh liposculpture ?
Many women are dissatisfied with their thighs and feel that nothing can be done to help them. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Just about every women can have the bulk of the thighs reduced and the shape improved by careful liposuction by an experienced surgeon.

What needs to be done to my thighs to make them better?
A balanced result is the best result in thigh liposuction. Just treating a single area may not give as good a result as is possible. The decision about just what should be done is best made at a consultation.

Is it permanent?
Yes, the reduction in the size of the thighs and the improvement in the shape is permanent, though it is important to maintain a proper diet and exercise program after the procedure.

Are there any scars?
There are generally 2-3 small 2mm wide access points for each area treated. These are not sutured after the procedure and essentially are invisible after a couple of weeks.

What other areas are treated at the same time?
Sometimes the buttocks may need to be treated and it is common to also reduce the hips and the knees at the same time as thigh liposuction.

What support garments are required?
A special compressive suit is worn for 3 days after the procedure, so wearing trousers or long dresses over the areas treated is recommended, if you want to disguise the garment.

Is there much bruising?
In general, there is always some bruising with thigh liposculpture, but this always settles quickly, within 2-3 weeks of the procedure. If you are planning a holiday in the sun, then it is a good idea to plan this at least 3 weeks after thigh liposuction.
How long does the procedure take?
Most thigh procedures take from between 2 to 3 hours .

How much time will I need off?
In general you should plan on returning to work on day 3. It would be about 2-3 weeks before normal gym activities or jogging should be restarted.

And the cost?
The cost of this procedure varies according to the areas that require treatment and whether the area is treated alone or in conjunction with other areas. For a more accurate costing click the Make an Appointment button or phone Palm Clinic for an appointment on 09 522 8128.
