Visible Hand Veins
Prominent visible veins on the hands can appear ageing
There are a range of treatment options. As we age we tend to lose fat from the backs of the hands which makes the veins appear more visible or prominent. These can be treated in one of two ways:
- treating the vein by closing it down with sclerotherapy injections
- replacing the lost fat with dermal fillers or fat to hide the prominent veins making them less visible
Option 2 is generally the best treatment as it is best not to disturb the veins by closing them. By putting fat or fillers in the backs of the hands, not only are the veins less visible but the hands look less bony and more youthful.
