The Nefertiti Lift is named after the ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, whose impressively tight jawline has been admired for centuries.
It is a non-surgical treatment which results in a more defined jawline and a 'lifted' appearance in the lower face.
The platysma muscle of the neck starts to tighten as we get older, pulling the facial muscles down. The Nerfertiti Lift procedure uses botulinum toxin to relax the downward pull of muslces around the jawline and neck. This allows the skin to release upwards, reducing jowls and tightening the jawline.
It works best on people who can strongly activate the muscles involved. If you can grimace easily or can make the chords in your neck stand out, you could be a good candidate. For those with fatty deposits around the jawline area, liposculpture may be a better option.
The procedure costs $400-$700 depending on how strong the muscles are, and lasts 4-6 months. It can be complemented with dermal fillers at the corners of the mouth, to correct a downturned mouth and sad appearance.
