Alison is a New Zealand trained Specialist General Surgeon with post fellowship specialist training in breast surgery at the United Kingdom’s largest Breast unit in Edinburgh. Following this she spent 18 months working as a Consultant at the Edinburgh Breast Unit which included running clinics at the Scottish Breast Screening Service and managing the unit’s surgical audit. She now practices at Laparoscopy Auckland and Palm Clinic. Her areas of practice include treatment of breast conditions, breast surgery, varicose vein treatments, hernia repair, skin lesion excision, gallbladder surgery and liposuction.
During her General Surgical training Alison spent six months training with the vascular surgeons at Auckland hospital where she acquired specific surgical skills operating on blood vessels using both traditional surgical techniques and image guided (Xray/ultrasound) techniques. She subsequently attended a breast ultrasound course in the United Kingdom then spent two months performing ultrasound under the direct supervision of Radiologists to refine and consolidate her skills. She uses ultrasound as a regular part of her practice and is experienced at performing ultrasound guided injection and biopsy.
Alison has subsequently trained in tumescent liposuction and liposculpture techniques with Dr Jeffery Klein in California and is performing liposuction at Palm Clinic.
