Fraxel Dual Laser for Acne Scarring

Fraxel Laser is a fractional resurfacing laser and it produces genuine improvement in acne scars. Be aware however that some Beauty Therapists advertise a Fraxel laser which is not as effective for acne scarring as the Fraxel Dual Medical Grade laser of which there are only two in Auckland. An alternative, gentler approach to treat acne scarring is Dermapen. Dermapen also achieves excellent results with a shorter 'downtime' associated with each treatment. Dermal Fillers for Acne Scarring

For severe depressions caused by acne scars Dermal Fillers can be used to elevate the scar. Occasionally the scars are tethered by fibrous strands and these can be incised to lift the acne scar.

If you have active acne this will need to be managed before the acne scarring is treated. There are a variety of treatments available for active acne including prescribed cosmeceutical skin care, antibiotics and retinoid creams.
